At the end of February 2024, the head of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medical Training of the Shupyk National Medical University of Ukraine, Professor Georgy Roschin, visited the Faculty of Medicine of the Uzhhorod National University.

There was a meeting with the Rector of the University, an outstanding scientist-neurosurgeon, Professor Volodymyr Smolanka, during which he shared his experience of training medical students in matters of emergency medical aid, disaster medicine, military and military-medical training under international programs, taking into account the extensive experience of international communications.

In turn, Professor Georgy Roschin focused on the importance of introducing basic (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) issues into the educational process for medical masters, both civilian and military, and shared the achievements of the department.

A meeting was also held with specialists of specialized departments and the Transcarpathian Regional Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine with the aim of unifying and making undergraduate and postgraduate education available. Based on the results of the above meetings and the experience of colleagues, the teaching of the specified disciplines at our University will be improved.
