The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 1 pays considerable attention to the clinical training of interns and graduate students at the main base of the department - the Kyiv Regional Perinatal Center.
In order to improve clinical thinking and practical skills in surgical work, interns and graduate students take an active part in performing obstetric and gynecological surgical interventions, participate in the rounds of departments of clinical bases of the department under the guidance of professors and associate professors, assist in performing complex surgical interventions in the obstetrics and gynecology clinic.
Thus, on June 25, 2024, during the delivery of a pregnant N. with breech presentation of the fetus, burdened by a somatic history (thrombophlebitis of the superficial veins of the right lower limb), under the guidance of the head of the department O.Golyanovsky, a PhD student of the 2nd year of study, S. Frolov performed the surgery, and interns of the 2nd year of study monitored the progress of the operation. The Cesarean section was successful with the birth of a live full-term girl weighing 3750 g, 8/8 points on the Apgar scale.
After the operation, together with the interns and the graduate student, Professor O. Golyanovsky explained the key points of cesarean section for pelvic presentation with a large fetus with the prevention of thromboembolic and hemorrhagic complications in a woman with thrombophlebitis.
