On April 7, 2025, the next meeting of the student surgical scientific circle was held at the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.

Traditionally, the student group meeting took place during the urgent departmental duty (the responsible surgeon is the head of the department, Professor Serhiy Savolyuk) at the clinical base of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery. The topic of this meeting was devoted to modern suture materials and their use in surgical practice.

The head of the department, Professor Serhiy Savolyuk continued the competition among masters for an abstract-review scientific paper and a logo for a student surgical club.

Masters took part in the evening round of the head of the department, Professor Serhiy Savolyuk and members of the department's duty team (assistants of the department – PhD Dmytro Zavertylenko, PhD Andriy Dembitsky, Hlib Melnychuk, postgraduate students – Yevhen Kruglyak, Vitaliy Lypnytsky, intern Karen Trushyk) of all patients of both surgical departments and resuscitation and intensive care unit , were present at surgical interventions for recurrent inguinal hernia, ascending thrombophlebitis, and acute destructive calculous cholecystitis.

The involvement of masters in routine surgical activities during the meetings of the student scientific circle allows us to highlight aspects of the practical activities and functioning of the clinical departments of our university. The next meeting of the surgical scientific circle is scheduled on April 11, 2025.
