Based on the order of the rector of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, Professor Vyacheslav Kaminsky, Associate Professor of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medical Training of the Medical Faculty, Valery Kuzmin, from February 19 to March 7, 2025, took part in providing medical assistance to the population of the deoccupied territories in southern Ukraine.

As part of the specialized medical team of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Valery Kuzmin provided medical assistance in the KNP "Velikooleksandrivska Hospital" of the Velikooleksandrivska settlement council of the Beryslav district of the Kherson region, which is located in the frontline zone, consulted the most complex patients and dealt with issues of medical evacuation. A feature of this mission was the organization and provision of both outpatient and inpatient care to the population during the armed conflict. During the mission, 33 inpatient and 12 outpatient patients were treated; 31 patients were consulted; 22 surgical interventions were performed. Valery Kuzmin, while treating the wounded, used the experience gained in previous missions in Ukraine as well as in international ones - Turkey, India, Iran, Pakistan, during the armed conflict in Libya. All this invaluable experience will be transferred to both experienced doctors and medical students.
