The Department of Oncology, as an educational unit of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, was attended on a working visit by the Head of the Department of Medical Personnel, Education and Science of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Serhiy Ubogov. His visit was related to the preparation for the beginning of training in medical residency in the specialties "Clinical Oncology" and "Oncogynecology".

During the visit, the issues of compliance of the declared requirements of the Department of Oncology with paragraphs 1-3, section II of the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated June 03, 2024 No. 949 "Regulations on Medical Residency" were considered. Special attention was paid to the planned forms and methods of the training management and conduction, the material and technical support of the educational unit, the clinical bases of the Department and their structural components. At the meeting, the staff of the Department of Oncology received a professional, comprehensive answer from Serhiy Gennadiyovych to questions regarding the organization of training in the residency, since this year, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department would begin of resident doctors in two oncological specialties.

The visit coincided with the completion of an adjacent cycle at the Department of Oncology for chaplains of the Department of Palliative and Hospice Medicine, who were familiar with characteristics of oncological patient.

As a result of the meeting, the staff of the Department have had enhanced their confidence that the main task of the medical residency of mastering a highly specialized level of professional competencies (knowledge, attainments, practical skills, attitude) within the medical specialties "Clinical Oncology" and "Oncogynecology" would be performed at a decent professional level.
