Presentations are now a common feature of working life. To give presentations in English is a real challenge for non-native speakers. The Department of Foreign Languages of NMAPE provides language training for teaching & research staff.

A certificate training course “Training Staff Pool. Business English for Research & Teaching Staff.” has already been conducted for 2 years. The course duration is 90 hours. What is convenient for the engaged staff members is that training is conducted in the evening hours. Maryna Pastukhova, the senior teacher of the Department, has more than 10 years of teaching experience in under- and postgraduate settings.

The course is designed to help the participants present more effectively in English. Students learn the vocabulary and expressions that they will definitely need when giving presentations. They also have an opportunity to train a lot of useful techniques that will help to communicate the message to the target audience.

The course covers all the stages of presentations as well as some related topics. Listening activities and a variety of exercises enable students to learn and practice useful expressions and structures. All texts relate to the topic and lead to discussions. Other issues like body language are also addressed. The Presentation Trainer helps to practice and finally to evaluate the results so that students are well prepared for giving presentations.

All the students note a professional approach to teaching; classes are intensive, varied, and definitely increase English proficiency.
