In December 2019, the staff of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, Associate Professor of the Department of Functional Diagnostics, Olga Yepanchintseva and Associate Professor of the Department of Cardiac Surgery, EndoVascular and Extracorporeal Technologies Oleg Zelenchuk together with two physicians of functional diagnostics of the Institute of Heart, Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine, underwent international clinical and scientific-pedagogical internship at the University Clinics of the Republic of Lithuania in Vilnius.
The internship was focused on the use of 3D- and 4D-echocardiography and exercise tests in cardiology and cardiac surgery, innovative technologies in cardiac surgery, endovascular and hybrid surgery. Besides, one of the internship tasks was the organization and multidisciplinary approach in logistics and treatment of patients at the University Clinics. Hybrid and endovascular treatment of paraprosthetic fistulas in severe patients who underwent aortic and (or) mitral valve prosthesis surgery in the past was the important part of the training. At the end of the internship, our employees received corresponding certificates.
The participance of the Lithuanian colleagues in the 8th Scientific-Practical Conference “Functional Diagnosis of Cardiovascular Diseases” on March 19, 2020 will be the next step of cooperation between departments of Shupik National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, Institute of Heart and Vilnius University Clinics.
