The staff members of the Department of Neurology No. 2 pursue their activities at carrying out research. Every year we participate in symposia, workshops, fora, etc.
Thus, Olena V. Tkachenko, head of the Department of Neurology No. 2, and O. M. Kononets, Associate Professor of the Department of Neurology No. 2, participated in the International Scientific Practical Conference “Modern Approaches to Diagnosing and Treating Neurological Diseases”, which was held on October 2, 2020. The conference focused on the management of cerebrovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis, infectious diseases of the nervous system and epilepsy.
Olena V. Tkachenko, head of the Department of Neurology No. 2, Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, MD, Dr. Sc., Full Professor took part in the conference reading the paper “The Nervous System Impairment in COVID-19: Information and Prospects”.
In her report, Olena V. Tkachenko provided insight into the issues of the nervous system impairment in COVID-19. In particular, she delved into the mechanisms of pathogenicity, the acute and delayed neurological manifestations reported to date. The subject matter aroused the special interest of the participants due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
