On January 19, 2022, a new clinical base of the Department Orthopedics and Traumatology № 2 of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine "Asklepiy Plus Medical Center" began to work in the city of Zhytomyr in accordance with the concluded cooperation agreement № 06/22/0127.

The medical center combines modern diagnostic equipment, an operating unit, the latest methods of treating diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, the experience of the best specialists, which allows students of the Department Orthopedics and Traumatology № 2 to improve their skills and gain new knowledge in the field of orthopedics and traumatology.

At the «Asclepiy Plus Medical Center», employees of the department, headed by the head of MD, Professor Mykola Ankin, consult and perform surgical interventions on patients with injuries and diseases of the upper and lower extremities.

On the newly created base of the department, the following surgical interventions are performed - surgery for injuries of the pelvis and acetabulum, primary and revision arthroplasty of the hip and knee joints, treatment of periprosthetic fractures, treatment of gunshot and mine-explosive injuries of the extremities, treatment of osteomyelitis limbs, osteosynthesis of fractures of bones of the extremities, as well as arthroscopic treatment of injuries and diseases of the hip and knee joints.
