The educational and methodological work of the department is aimed at optimizing the educational process, investigating the present concepts of foreign language teaching.
The teaching staff members deal with the improvement of the methods of teaching foreign languages. They use the up-to-date educational technologies, new methods of the presentation and mastering of vocabulary and grammar material, which greatly shorten the duration of studying the foreign language.
The following thematic advanced training courses are conducted at the Department: English for Postgraduates, English for the Teaching Staff.
To enter the master’s and postgraduate courses the applicants should pass the entrance exams in English, French, German at the Department.
In 2017 there started the first-ever course of advanced curriculum in English “LECTURERS’ ADVANCED TRAINING”. The mission of the course is to improve foreign language communicative competence of medical professionals taking into account challenges of further work on international health programmes, participation in international conferences, forums in health care system, as well as teaching foreign students.
In 2018 there started the course of advanced curriculum in English (90 hours) “Business English”.
In 2018 there launched revising for the Pearson Test of English General. The PTE General is designed to reward positive achievement in English language learning. The International Certificate integrates all four skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) and focuses on assessing the ability of communicating in English, rather than test-taking skills.
In 2022 there started the course of advanced curriculum in English (90 hours) “Tactical Medicine Essentials. Basic Military English”.
