Oleksandr Pogorelov, born in 1960, graduated from Vinnytsia State Medical Institute named after M.I. Pirogov in 1984 with a specialization in General Medicine.

From 1984 to 1985, he completed an internship in Surgery at Kalynivska District Hospital in Vinnytsia region. From 1985 to 1988, he worked as a surgeon at Nemirivska District Hospital in Vinnytsia region.

From 1988 to 1990, he pursued clinical residency at the Kyiv Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians, showing aptitude for scientific work. In December 1990, he was admitted to the postgraduate program in the Department of Surgery at the Kyiv Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians. He obtained a Candidate of Medical Sciences degree in 1992 with a dissertation on "Features of Surgical Treatment of Nodal and Mixed Euthyroid Goiter after the Chernobyl NPP Accident (based on materials from Kyiv region)."

From 1993 to 1999, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Surgery No. 2. From 1999 to 2022, he held the position of associate professor at the Department of Surgery and Proctology.

Since 2023, Oleksandr Viktorovych has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Oncology at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.

He has a total work experience of 39 years, with 34 years in scientific and pedagogical activities. He is a member of the Association of Endocrine Surgeons of Ukraine.
