At the end of January 2023, the international congress on intensive care was held in San Francisco (USA), organized by the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).
More than 200 well-known world experts took part in this scientific forum on issues of intensive care. Over 120 sessions of the most relevant profile questions were in the congress program. In total, the program featured more than 1200 abstracts from more than 4000 delegates from different countries all over the world.
Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Shupyk National Healthcare Institute of Ukraine (head of the department, Prof. O. Loskutov), presented at the congress the summary of work with the Mayo Clinic (USA) "STOP-Trauma: Structured Team-based OPtimal critical care for Trauma victims" (project coordinators: Professor D. Dziuba, Professor O. Loskutov).
As noted in the report, which was presented to the participants of the forum, in result of performed work a multimodal, fast-acting platform for knowledge exchange and solutions support was created for Ukrainian doctors. A special web page on the website CERTAIN (icertain.org) with trauma guidelines and additional resources was developed.
A professional group in Viber™ was also created to offer the participants a safe community for sharing knowledge and discussing of complex topics. Once every two months were held webinars in Zoom™ on urgent care in case of severe injuries, the topics were determined by Ukrainian participants, also the panel discussions were held with live broadcasts on YouTube™ channel.
The results of this work were highly evaluated by competitive organizational committee and its delegates and according to the voting this report was awarded second place at the congress, which certainly emphasizes the successes of the department and its large scientific and organizational potential.
