The program included attending two important events in Washington, D.C. - a review lecture on leadership development and board structure in the U.S. healthcare industry. The second event was a meeting with representatives of the North Carolina Congressman to discuss strategic governance in healthcare and public health.

The next part of the program, in which a representative of the Department of Oncology participated, was a visit to the main medical and legal institutions of health care in North Carolina. During the 10 days, many meetings were held with representatives of the main medical institutions, Duke University medical centers, Wakemed and UNC hospitals.

As part of the Open World Leadership program, new systems were developed and tested to improve home health care. New protocols for treating patients with cancer were reviewed and implemented. A plan to update the pharmaceutical industry's logistics in the area of oncology and rare diseases was presented. The participants were also familiarized with the programs of rehabilitation centers, algorithms for restoring the musculoskeletal system in civilian and military victims of war. The systems of emergency medical care for patients with cardiovascular disease and the work of endovascular surgery centers were also studied.
