The Department of Emergency Medicine of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine informs that on July 1, 2023, a training on mastering practical skills «Emergency Sonography. eFAST protocol». The purpose of the event was to teach emergency ultrasound diagnostics at any stage of emergency care.

The program of this training event consisted of 7 sections, which included coverage of the basic principles of emergency ultrasound diagnostics for the search for free fluid in the abdominal cavity, pericardium, pleural cavities, andT the presence of pneumothorax. The program of this training is based on the eFAST protocol (Extended Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma), and included the author's approach of the department staff. The curriculum also presented the possibilities of rapid diagnosis in the assessment of trauma, hypotension and/or shock of unknown etiology in a patient with trauma to determine the need for intervention, assessment of unexplained hypotension or shock in a patient without trauma, detection of ectopic pregnancy.

The lecturers of this event were Olga Kramareva, Associate Professor of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, PhD, and Anton Volosovets, Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, PhD. The event was attended by emergency medicine doctors, family doctors and surgeons. After passing the practical skills assessment and the final test, the training participants were issued certificates with the corresponding individual numbers (certificate numbers from 2023-1065-5503987-100001 to 2023-1065-5503987-1000003).
