On November 4th, the department of cardiology at  Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine organized free elective classes to the prevention of stroke, chronic kidney disease, and obesity. The sessions took place online, aiming to expand the knowledge and diagnostic capabilities of healthcare professionals in line with global medical trends.

How to prevent a stroke? Which risk factors require special attention? Answers to these questions were provided by the head of the department of emergency states  at  Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine dr. Anton Volosovets  in his lecture: "Prevention of internal risk factors for ischemic stroke."

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) has recently been recognized as a hidden epidemic, particularly in high and middle-income countries, often associated with diabetes or hypertension. Dr. Olena Loboda, senior research associate at the Institute of Nephrology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, detailed strategies to protect kidneys in diabetes and discussed effective medications.

Professor, D.M. head of the department of cardiology at  Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine Marina Dolzhenko focused on obesity as a cardiovascular risk factor during COVID-19. The presentation covered both treatment and prevention strategies for this pathological condition, addressing metabolic and endocrine disorders that contribute to weight gain.

Each speaker answered questions received from doctors.
