On December 1-2, 2023, a scientific and practical conference with international participation organized by the public organization "National Association of Oncologists of Ukraine" was held in the conference hall of the Arden Palace hotel, Khmelnytskyi region, Sataniv settlement.
The event was attended by: Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on National Health, Medical Aid and Medical Insurance, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine, Chairman of the National Health Service of Ukraine, People's Deputies of Ukraine, General Director of the National Cancer Institute, General Director of the State "Medical Procurement of Ukraine", Director of the State Enterprise "State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine", Directors of oncological institutions and specialists from all over Ukraine in the field of treatment of malignant tumors.
At the conference, domestic and international experts discussed topical issues of modern oncology in Ukraine, namely: modern trends in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors; criteria for assessing the quality of medical care and approving National Cancer Treatment Protocols; medical guarantee programs; financing of surgical packages; cooperation with family doctors and others.
During the conference, the participants in two sections considered the modern aspects of early diagnosis, issues of screening and treatment of malignant neoplasms of the breast and colorectal cancer. Employees of the Department of Oncology actively participated in the work of the section " Colorectal cancer. Modern aspects of diagnosis and treatment in Ukraine". The head of the department, Professor Prokip Hordiychuk, directly participated in the organization of this section and was its moderator. Three reports were presented at the section employees of the department with coverage of scientific developments and obtained results. Associate Professor of the Department of Oncology, Olga Ponomaryova, presented her personal experience on the question: "The role of adjuvant chemotherapy in the treatment of patients with rectal cancer ", young scientists, postgraduate students of the department presented their scientific developments on the issue of surgical treatment of colorectal cancer depending on localization.
The participants of the meeting came to the conclusion that the level of oncological diseases has a tendency to grow, both in the world and in Ukraine, therefore there is a need for time and the need for constant training and improvement of the professional level.
