High professional standards in the training of specialists and the development of young surgeons are crucial for the effective operation of surgical clinics, a goal that cannot be achieved without the close integration of departments specializing in surgery and the staff of surgical departments in clinical settings.

Professional growth and prosperity of surgical schools and teams are impossible without adhering to classical principles and traditions of collegial interaction for the exchange of accumulated surgical experience to the benefit of patients. 

Тhe classical surgical tradition of conducting professorial rounds for all patients with surgical profiles at the clinical bases of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine. The head of the department is Dr. Sc. Med., Professor Savolyuk S.I.

Taking into account that the main clinical base of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery is the powerful surgical clinic of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 8, every Monday, the head of the department, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Dr. Sc. Med., Professor Savolyuk S.I., conducts rounds for all surgical patients together with the department staff, as well as members from two surgical departments, participants of ongoing thematic improvement cycles, and interns in both face-to-face and distance learning programs.

Upon the completion of the professorial rounds, a clinical analysis is conducted to discuss the management tactics for complex and challenging patients. This includes the establishment of a diagnostic pathway, principles of patient preparation, and the determination of timelines for executing surgical procedures and interventions.

Adherence to classical principles in a surgical school is the key to the continuous professional growth of the entire surgical team at the clinic and the achievement of high surgical standards and results.
