On April 19-20, 2024, the American Association of Neurocritical Care Society (NCS), with the support of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), conducted a training course "Emergency Neurological Life Support" for Ukrainian neurologists and doctors of related specialties.

The Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) course is designed to help healthcare professionals improve patient care and outcomes during the critical first hours of a patient’s neurological emergency. ENLS demonstrates a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach and provides a consistent set of protocols, practical checklists, decision points, and suggested communication to use during patient management.

The course was taught by well-known neurointensivists and experienced instructors of the NCS Association, and national specialists in the field of emergency neurology were involved as instructors-interpreters, among whom the Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine Anton Volosovets and Associate Professor Olga Kramareva were invited as representatives from our university.

All the teachers of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine in full force were trained at this course to improve their skills in terms of providing emergency medical care to patients with various variants of acute pathology of the nervous system for further implementation of the acquired knowledge in the educational process of the department.
