On June 1, the department of cardiology at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine held a cardiology workshop. The aim of the event was to discuss modern approaches to the treatment of patients with comorbid conditions such as heart failure, diabetes mellitus, and chronic kidney disease. The meeting was of interest to cardiologists, therapists, family doctors, and endocrinologists.

Lawyer, Master of Law, Secretary of the Coordination Council of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on Dentistry Tetiana Sliptchenko conducted legal consultations on military registration of medical personnel and pharmacists, discussing current legal norms and recommendations, which sparked active discussion among the participants. Special attention was paid to the rights and duties of medical workers during mobilization.

Professor, head of the department of therapy at the National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnytsya, Nataliia Osovska presented the latest approaches to the treatment of chronic heart failure. The possibilities of personalized treatment approaches were highlighted in more detail, which allows increasing the effectiveness of therapy and improving the quality of life of patients.

In the lecture "Treatment of diabetes mellitus, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease with SGLT2 inhibitors," head of the cardiology department at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, MD, professor Maryna Dolzhenko discussed the use of SGLT2 inhibitors in the treatment of comorbid conditions, presented data from new clinical studies demonstrating the efficacy and safety of these drugs, as well as side effects.

Interventional cardiologist of the department of interventional cardiology and reperfusion therapy at the National Scientific Center "M.D. Strazhesko Institute of Cardiology, Clinical and Regenerative Medicine" Yuliia Kashuba shared her experience in using modern methods for assessing intracoronary physiology. The lecture included practical recommendations for the application of these methods in clinical practice to optimize the treatment of ischemic heart disease. Special emphasis was placed on advanced technologies and their role in making clinical decisions.

Assistant at  the cardiology department at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine Tetiana Simahina, and Professor Maryna Dolzhenko, together with Yuliia Kashuba, presented strategies for preventing stent restenosis in patients with myocardial infarction and demonstrated their effectiveness in a real clinical case.

The event served as a platform for the exchange of experience and knowledge among specialists aimed at improving the treatment of patients with comorbid conditions.
