On February 1st, the Cardiology Department of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine  launched free Saturday elective sessions. 

Such meetings are aimed at improving the professional level of doctors, deepening knowledge on current issues of cardiology and related specialties, as well as discussing the latest clinical recommendations and approaches to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

The event began with a lecture by  Maryna Dolzhenko, MD, Professor, and Head the Cardiology Department of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, “Cardiorenal Metabolic Syndrome: Selection of Antihypertensive Therapy.” This pathology represents a combination of cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic disorders that significantly increase the risk of complications. Special attention was given to modern approaches to selecting antihypertensive therapy according to international guidelines, considering not only blood pressure levels but also kidney function and metabolic status.

How to choose the right treatment for a patient with a history of myocardial infarction and symptoms of chronic heart failure? What diagnostic procedures should be performed? These crucial aspects were thoroughly explained by Lіudmyla Yakovenko, assistant at the  Cardiology Department of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.

An interesting discussion took place between Prof. Maryna Dolzhenko and  Tetiana Simagina, PhD, assistant at the Cardiology Department of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, focusing on the management of patients with chronic coronary syndrome in accordance with modern guidelines. Therapeutic nuances were demonstrated through clinical case studies.

The lecturers and organizers noted the high activity of the audience and thanked the doctors for their constant self-improvement.
