On the 7th of February, 2017 a regular session of permanent commission of NMAPE Academic Board on International Relations took place at the Academy.
It was focused on introduction of English teaching. The event was chaired by Vice-Rector for International Relations and International Students Research and Training, Full Professor Olesia Hulchiy and attended by the leaders and employees of units and departments of the Academy, members of Student Government and the Council of Young Scientists.
The meeting started with the discussion of a complex of measures aimed at the development of English training at the Academy. Full Professor O. Hulchiy informed the participants about the signing of the Decree aimed at English teaching, and invited the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Associate Professor Lada Lichman to tell about the advanced training on English proficiency for lecturers. In her report Associate Professor L. Lichman briefly described the aim and objectives of a unique course (600 academic hours) intended for the participants with a basic level of Upper-Intermediate and aimed at achieving a level of C1.
She also suggested extending the range of students by involving people who know English at Intermediate level. After a lively discussion, the participants of the meeting approved the creation and implementation of training programmes for lecturers with an Intermediate level of English, and expressed their wish for the opening of such form of language improvement as Speaking Club.
In the next issue of the agenda, Full Professor O. Hulchiy reported on the approval of the Decree “On International Activities”, which significantly simplifies the procedure of registration of business trips for employees of the Academy.
Head of the Department of international Relations, Associate Professor Nadiia Zakharova informed about the changes that were made in the provision of curator. In addition, she presented the draft of proposals and changes in the method of calculating the rating of the departments in terms of international activities and marketing.
At the end ofthe meeting, Full Professor O. Hulchiy announced the creation of the electronic type of reporting on international relations and marketing, the continuation of the training activity, informed about the agreement with the Milan University and announced key areas of work for six months.
