World primary immunodeficiency week is a global campaign to raise awareness and improve diagnosis and treatment of primary immunodeficiency, which takes place every year, April 22-29.
Patients, family members, public organizations, health care providers are taking part in initiatives to improve the recognition, diagnosis, treatment and quality of life of people with primary immunodeficiency diseases. Seminars, workshops, family days and radio broadcasts - this is just a small sample of all the activities which are organized worldwide.
For several years, immunologists of our country together with the patient organization "Rare Immune Diseases" support this tradition, to cover the real problems of patients with primary immunodeficiencies and to find their solutions!
Our Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology has also contributed to the information campaign on primary immunodeficiencies. We were making radio reports and taking part in the educational event of the School of Immunology / Allergology in Vinnitsa on April 23 2019 (Associate Professor Anastasia Bondarenko), in the Meeting of Kiev Region Pediatric Society. Professor Alla Volokha presented a report focusing on infections as a manifestation of primary immunodeficiency at a scientific conference "Actual issues of diagnostics and treatment of allergic and autoimmune diseases in children", which was organized in NMAPE by the Department of Pediatrics № 1 on April 25.
