On November 2, 2020 at the Department of Pediatrics №1 of the of  Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education a professional seminar was held to test the dissertation on the new international requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.

For the first time at the Faculty of Pediatrics, Lyudmyla Volodymyrivna Duda, a graduate student of the Department of Pediatrics №1, defended her dissertation under the new requirements. Research supervisor - a well-known in Ukraine and abroad specialist in pediatrics, pediatric allergology and rheumatology, Professor Okhotnikova Оlena Mykolaivna.

The dissertation on the topic "Clinical and epidemiological characteristics and current stages of formation of the most common allergic diseases in children - residents of Kyiv and Kyiv region" is devoted to one of the current problems - allergic diseases in children. The special value of the work lies in the painstaking epidemiological studies of allergic pathology in children. The work also contains specific and much-needed practical advice for primary care physicians.

The discussion of the work provoked a lively discussion both directly in the audience and among the participants who were online. The scientific novelty and practical significance of the work was noted by the reviewers of the work - Professor Beketova Halyna Volodymyrivna, Professor Volokha Alla Petrovna, Dean of the Pediatric Faculty - Professor Mamenko Maryna Yevhenivna, Chairman of the Meeting - Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Shunko Yelyzaveta Yevhenivna.
