Among the activities of volunteer work, the Department of Oncology held five master classes during the week to practice skills of providing medical care at the pre-hospital stage during hostilities. More than 30 territorial defense fighters took part in each of the events, led by the head of the department, Professor Prokip Gordiichuk, and a full-time graduate student of the department Mykola Gordiichuk.

Taking into account the practical experience and recommendations for such activities in Britain, the United States and Israel, the training focused on the development of techniques for self - and mutual assistance in the red and yellow war zones. Skills to eliminate the main causes of combat losses were developed, namely: critical bleeding, airway obstruction, gunshot wound to the chest - pneumothorax, eye injury, thermal trauma and long-term compression syndrome (crash syndrome). For two hours, after the presentation of relief techniques, the fighters practiced them under the supervision of curators with the definition of correctness and control of effectiveness.

Representatives of the staff praised the event, recognizing it as extremely important not only during the martial law, but also in the postwar period. They asked to continue this cycle of training for both territorial defense fighters and civilians.
