Up-grading course participants: heads and residents of orthopedic-traumatological and surgical departments, orthopedic traumatologists and surgeons of clinics, pediatric orthopedists traumatologists, surgeons, pediatric surgeons.
It is an indisputable fact that during the last three years 64 interns have successfully completed their studies majoring in Orthopedics and Traumatology.
In the context of Ukraine's integration into the European space, considerable attention is paid to the training of family physicians at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology No.2 within adjacent cycles of internships, specializations, training courses. Since 2007, the Department has annually trained more than 100 doctors and interns majoring in "General Practice - Family Medicine", who learned about the main areas of orthopedic and trauma care for patients, the principles of differential diagnosis and treatment methods of patients with injuries and orthopedic pathology.
As for the prospects for the development of major 14.01.21 "Orthopedics and Traumatology", they arise from today's needs. Disability due to high-energy trauma is one of the leading causes of disability in Ukraine and accounts for up to 28% of the total number of disabled people and does not tend to decrease. Therefore, the training quality and the number of trained orthopedic traumatologists are important and relevant issues for Ukraine.
The major "Orthopedics and Traumatology" has a logical and consistent scheme of the educational process for training specialists according to the professional training program of higher education in the specific major. It takes into account the requirements for knowledge and skills with regard to professional requirements for training and qualification. For instance, the thematic focus of practical and seminar classes is formed to obtain a master's degree in medicine in "Orthopedics and Traumatology" on the basis of curricula and developed teaching materials, which are annually updated and supplemented in accordance with the requirements imposed on modern physicians.
Modern technical equipment of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology No.2, rich library fund of orthopedic and traumatological literature in Ukrainian, Russian and foreign languages, the availability of modern diagnostic equipment allow to provide physicians with various forms of training to master practical skills and additional methods of examination in orthopedic and trauma patients. Scientific and practical seminars for orthopedic traumatologists of Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine are held on the basis of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology No.2.
The teaching staff of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology No.2 constantly works to improve their professional skills through the participation in international professional conferences, symposiums, national congresses, workshops, meetings of the Orthopedic and Traumatological Society of Kyiv and Kyiv region, the Association of Orthopedic Traumatologists of Ukraine. The teaching staff of the Department also underwent training at the Department of Pedagogy, Didactics, and Informatics.
