The cycle "Laser treatments in ophthalmology" is designed for ophthalmologists who wish to improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the anterior and posterior segment pathologies of eye that require laser interferences; increased microsurgical qualification of laser surgeons.

During the course, theoretical data on the physical and biological effects of laser radiation, the main types of laser installations, their differences, and parameters of laser radiation are illuminated. Much of the course is devoted to the improvement of skills and abilities in diagnosis and treatment of the main pathology of the retina - age-related macular degeneration, central serous chorioretinopathy, diabetic retinopathy, occlusion of the retinal vessels. The principles and approaches to the combined treatment of vascular diseases of the retina are considered, as well as the choice of the most pathogenetically grounded method of microsurgical laser intervention.

A separate part of the course is devoted to the selective minimally invasive laser intervention - micro pulse laser treatment of vascular pathology of the retina.

Much attention is paid to the development of knowledge on the special advanced methods of research of the organ of vision using the principle of laser scanning ophthalmoscope - optical coherent tomography (OCT), angiography. Compares the advantages and disadvantages of an angiography with contrast (fluorescein angiography) and without contrast (angio OCT).

Considerable attention is paid to the methods of instrumental and differential diagnostics for the determination of indicators and the choice of the most rational laser or combined medical method of treatment of the pathology of the anterior and posterior sections of the eye.

A cycle of lectures on subtenotonous injections of corticosteroids, intravitreal injections of vascular endothelial growth factor inhibitors and dexamethasone implant with a master class in silicone eyes is conducted.
