The damage to the organ of vision, despite the achievement of modern reconstructive microsurgery and pathogenetically substantiated pharmacotherapy, which significantly improved the effects of injuries, remains one of the main causes of disability, which reaches 30.1% among the able-bodied population of Ukraine.
Therefore, it is urgent to conduct a cycle of thematic improvement " Traumatic injuries of the eye", at which students will be able to get acquainted with modern scientific researches of scientists of Ukraine and overseas ophthalmologists concerning classification, diagnostics and new technologies in the treatment of damage to the organ of vision.
Particular attention during the seminars is given to considering the features of eye damage, depending on the injury factor. After all, knowledge of the causes of injuries and related features of injuries are needed to ensure optimal rehabilitation of victims.
In order to increase the level of ophthalmologic help to patients with damage to eye in the thematic improvement cycle, students will assess combustiology of the eye, car trauma and peculiarities of the organization of conducting patients with combat lesions are presented in detail.
One of the points of the thematic improvement cycle is child trauma. During lectures, seminars and practical classes students will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the features of the diagnosis of injuries in children and the modern approaches to the treatment of traumatic damage to the body of vision in childhood.
Since some in the ophthalmologist's practice, traumatic damage to the orbit is more common, some lectures and seminars are devoted to the illumination of this particular problem. They will be presented with a high-tech multidisciplinary approach using computer technology and 3D modeling for the production of individualized implants in order to reconstruct traumatic defects in the orbit.
