In accordance with the order of the Shupyk NHCU of Ukraine dated September 19, 2023 No. 3426, the Department of Oncology has held an interdepartmental professional seminar on the preliminary examination of the dissertation materials of Anastasia Samuseva, a graduate student of the Department. The seminar was attended by representatives of the Departments of Oncology, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Oncology & Radiation Safety of the Shupyk NHCU of Ukraine, the State University «National Scientific Center of Radiation Medicine» of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Department of Oncology of the O.O. Bogomolets NMU.
At the seminar, the results of the dissertation work on the topic: «Individualization of the treatment tactics in patients with a triple-negative breast cancer», tutored by Associate Professor of the Department of Oncology, Doctor of Medicine Olga Ponomaryova, were presented. The topic is of particular relevance given that breast cancer ranks first in morbidity and mortality among oncological diseases in women, both in the world and in Ukraine. In addition, a triple-negative breast cancer is one of the most aggressive and problematic subtype of the disease.
The results of the dissertation were recognized as solving an actual task in clinical oncology as well as having proven scientific and practical value. The report of the seeker of a scientific degree was distinguished by the completeness of the presentation of materials with their proper analysis accomplished, and demonstrated a deep knowledge of the problem. In the discussion and the seminar resolution, it was unanimously recognized that by the content and scope of the research it constitutes s a completed qualifying scientific work that meets all current requirements. That's why, A. Samuseva's dissertation was recommended for official defense for obtaining of the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
