From May 20 to June 3, 2024, at the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine (head of the department - Doctor of Medicine, Professor Serhiy Savoliuk) the cycle of thematic improvement «Innovative technologies in planned and emergency surgery» took place.

As always, this cycle was full of trainings in clinics and operating rooms with demonstrations and analyzes of modern surgical treatment methods.

During these 2 weeks trainees from all over Ukraine had the opportunity to observe and participate in the different planned interventions (6 metabolic/bariatric operations, 2 general surgical operations) and urgent interventions (during 2 shifts – 14 operations).

The listeners of the cycle had the opportunity to take part in a detailed analysis of each clinical case, discuss the technical aspects of the performed interventions, get a modern theoretical basis, visit the operating room, talk with the head of the department, Professor Serhiy Savoliuk and assistant of the department, PhD Dmytro Zavertylenko.

Practically oriented training, participation in surgical interventions and clinical examinations at all stages of patient treatment always interests and attracts trainees from specialized surgical departments of state and private medical institutions.
