On March 10, 2025, the regular meeting of the student surgical scientific circle was held at the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine,

Traditionally, the student group meeting took place during the urgent departmental duty (the responsible surgeon was the head of the department, Professor Serhiy Savolyuk) at the clinical base of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery,  the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital.

The topic of this meeting was devoted to the anatomy of the inguinal canal and modern alloplastic materials for the elimination (prosthetics) of defects of the anterior abdominal wall. The head of the department, Professor Serhiy Savolyuk announced a competition among masters for an abstract-review scientific paper and a logo for a student surgical club.

Masters took part in the evening examination of patients by  the head of the department, Professor Serhiy Savolyuk and members of the department's duty team (assistants of the department – PhD Dmytro Zavertylenko, PhD Andriy Dembitsky,  Hlib Melnychuk, postgraduate students – Yevhen Kruglyak, Vitaliy Lypnytsky, intern Karen Trushyk) of all patients of 2 surgical departments and intensive care department.This allows master's students, from the 1st year, to get involved in emergency surgery and immerse themselves in practical surgical activities, taking as an example the work of the departmental teachers, who will teach them surgical diseases in their senior years.
