The Department of Foreign Languages has announced the opening of admissions for the January – April, 2020 Teachers' Advanced Training Course at NMAPE!

The curriculum includes 156 hours and covers various topical sections. Thus, our attendees are supposed to become familiar with a great number of important subjects, and what is especially important, the specific (belonging to the medical academic community) group of learners stands a good chance of gaining knowledge in scientific medical terminology.

A noteworthy detail is that scientific activity is a term used by Leo Vygotsky (a great psychologist, who established the explicit and profound connection between silent inner speech and oral language, and the development of mental concepts and cognitive awareness) to differentiate it from spontaneous activity. He associated this type of activity to formal education in school, including the higher school where students experience the learning that is planned for them. Therefore, training medical equivalents, while teaching our learners, is aimed at setting their research vocabulary right.

Along with this the learners get the opportunity to gain some key skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Within the framework of grammar phenomena they may master English morphology dealing with the understanding of how words are formed, studying the structure of words as well as acquire syntax, which is focused on the way sentences are developed, and studies the structure of sentences.

Monitoring the learners' academic performance is comprised of formative assessments, which refer to a wide variety of methods that we usually use to conduct in-process evaluations of the learner comprehension, learning needs, and academic progress during a lesson, unit, or course and the summative ones, including end-of-unit or -chapter tests, final projects, portfolios, achievement tests and standardized tests. Conflating the assessments results in the total score where credit hours used to calculate the learners' GPA are of great importance.
