According to the of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, diabetes was the seventh leading cause of death in the world in 2016. The prevalence of diabetes in Ukraine has increased by half in the last 10 years. Almost 3% of the primary disability of the adult population in Ukraine is due to diabetes.

The 10-year risk of cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes is 5-10%. Diagnosis and treatment of various diseases in diabetic patients can be complicated by an atypical course, which requires additional attention and knowledge from doctors.
