On March 2nd 2020, a course of thematic improvement “Diagnostics and Intensive Care of Urgent Conditions” has begun on the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care. A duration of course is 2 weeks. Professor Oleksandr Halushko is a guidance counselor of this thematic improvement.
A program of the course consists of the problems in diagnostics and modern methods of treatment and intensive care of different medical emergencies. Head of the Department professor Oleg Loskutov gave a first lection in a course, which was dedicated to diagnostics and management of Coronavirus disease. Doctors listened to new information about the etiology, pathogenesis and clinical appearance of this dangerous infection. A teaching stuff of the Department will give a huge attention to the discussion of modern recommendations on the respiratory support in patients with acute viral pneumonias. Moreover, the using of ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) in the treatment of this condition will be a topic of one lection too.
Twenty-six doctors from all over Ukraine have already studied on the course. Differential diagnosis of coma of different etiology, diagnostics and treatment of acute intoxications, management of acute bleeding, urgent abdominal diseases, cardiogenic shock and other medical emergencies will be topics of lections during this thematic improvement.
Doctors have an opportunity to improve their theoretical knowledge, practical skills and to earn points for their portfolios of continuing education during the course of thematic improvement on the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Shupyk NMAPE.
