On December 3, 2020, at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (due to quarantine measures due to the spread of COVID-19) an online discussion and approval of dissertation research topics for PhD students Sulimenko Y. and Savchuk T. took place.
The dissertation of Yevhen Sulimenko "Comparison of regional methods of labour anaesthesia" involves the study of certain aspects of the important problem of anaesthesia in obstetrics. Associate Professor Andriy Zhezher has been appointed Supervisor. Tetyana Savchuk’s dissertation is devoted to regional anaesthesia in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Associate Professor Dmytro Dziuba has been appointed the Scientific Supervisor of the dissertation research. All employees of the department took an active part in the discussion of these topics and unanimously recommended to approve the topics and supervisors of these dissertations.
According to the chairman of the meeting, the head of the department, Professor Oleg Loskutov, these studies are quite relevant in modern anesthesiology and will contribute to the further solution of many practical aspects of anesthesiologists.
The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care has gained significant experience in conducting large-scale scientific and scientific-practical activities, the educational process using distance forms of communication and learning. Thus, at the beginning of 2020, the educational platform of the department was introduced in the social networks “Likarsky Osvitniy Portal” (“Medical Education Portal”), which is now followed by 10,599 doctors. Given the need to comply with quarantine measures related to COVID 19, two large online conferences BUS 12 and MAC 5 were combined and held on October 15-17, 2020. They used 30 hours of broadcast time, involving 2,537 delegates. Using the ZOOM program, lectures and workshops are constantly held, including 89 lectures for interns and 38 lectures for students of thematic improvement cycles during the quarantine. Credits for interns are also available online. This innovative approach with the introduction of distance learning is progressive and popular in the world's leading educational institutions.
