On January 21, 2021, the staff of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care took part in the Eurasian Teleconference "COVID-19 – important issues".

Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Professor Oleg Loskutov gave a lecture on "Neuroinvasion in coronavirus infection: pathogenesis and treatment prospects", which highlighted the main links of the pathological process in COVID-19 and the mechanisms of coronaviruses influence on the central nervous system. Professor O. Loskutov shared his experience in treating severe patients and outlined future directions of intensive care of this disease.

In another report, Professor Oleksandr Halushko highlighted the topic "Asthenic syndrome in a post-COVID patient", in which he described the new pathology that has emerged in recent months as a complication of coronavirus infection. The speaker revealed the features of the clinical picture, risk factors and promising methods of treatment of this new disease.

On January 27, these topics were also discussed during the teleconference "Stroke Management: What's New?", where Professor O. Loskutov and Professor O. Halushko spoke in the section "COVID-19. Post-COVID. The focus is on neurological complications". All lectures of our Academy speakers were broadcast live on the YouTube channel, aroused lively interest and many questions from the audience.

Participants of the teleconferences also listened with interest to lectures by foreign speakers: Rector of the Tashkent Institute for Post-Graduate Medical Education Professor Habibullah Akilov, member of the Council of the European Society of Anesthesiology (ESA) Professor Konstantin Lebedinsky and other speakers who shared their experience in treating coronavirus infection.

In total, about 16,000 doctors from different countries took part in the work of teleconferences.
