On September 24-25, 2021, the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care took part in a scientific and practical conference dedicated to vascular access (infusion therapy, hemodynamic monitoring, hemostasis).

The conference was organized by Ukrainian Association of Vascular Access, which is headed by Associate Professor Andriy Strokan, an employee of the Department.

The event, which was held in a hybrid format on the territory of the conference center of Feofania Clinical Hospital, was attended by 7 employees of the Department.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, deputy O. Dmytrieva spoke, she noted that "...I am a doctor myself, and I am well aware of how important such conferences are. Sharing experience and professional improvement are what makes a doctor a doctor."

Within two days, several simulation platforms and conference rooms became real platforms for sharing experience and discussing the most important medical topics.

The Head of the Department, Professor Oleg Loskutov, reported on the state of monitoring and future prospects for its development and held a master class on arterial vascular accesses. Associate Professor Andriy Strokan highlighted the problems and relevance of various vascular accesses in intensive care units. Professor Oleksandr Druzhyna focused in his lecture on the issues of extracorporeal circulation and its practical use in critical patients. Associate Professor Inna Kuchynska, based on her own experience, focused on vascular access in patients in the "COVID" hospital. Associate Professor Oleksiy Domoratskyi and Associate Professor Maksym Pylypenko reported on the legal aspects and various complications of venous and arterial catheters; associate professor Mykhailo Bondar gave a lecture on the molecular aspects of fibrinolysis.

All participants of the conference (both those who attended master classes and those who participated online) noted the high level of organization and informative content of the forum.
