On 28-30th October, 2022, the 10th EnGaGe Patient Advocacy Seminar was held in Berlin under the umbrella of the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO) Congress. The meeting started with welcoming words of ESGO President Prof. Nicole Konkin and Congress President Prof. Jalid Sehouli.
The development of the EnGaGe network is another opportunity to increase our citizens' awareness of risk factors, prevention strategies and early detection of the most common gynecological cancer: cervical, ovarian, endometrial, vaginal and vulvar cancer.
During the opening ceremony of the seminar as a representative of Ukraine in EnGaGe Teens Margaryta Lyzogub spoke about the current situation of Ukrainian oncogynaecologic patients at home and in the EU, their challenges and victories in the fight against the disease.
A medical supervisor of EnGaGe Teens in Ukraine, an employee of the Oncology Department of Shupyk NHU of Ukraine, Nataliya Tsip MD., PhD. addressed the participants with a video message. Nataliya Pavlivna outlined the biggest changes in the structure of oncogynaecological care during wartime and thanked foreign colleagues for their support and help.
The speech of Prof. Frederic Amant - the main ideologist and head of the International network on cancer, infertility and pregnancy (INCIP) aroused special interest among the participants of the seminar. Professor Amant explained the modern possibilities of fertility preservation in gynecological cancer patients. The great interest of the audience in the achievements of pregnancy preservation in women with gynecological cancer reiterates the relevance of expanding this knowledge among the professional community.
The cycle of thematic improvement "Gynecological cancer and pregnancy" planned by the Department of Oncology for November 15-29, 2022 will be of great help for getting acquainted with modern approaches to diagnosis and treatment of this category of patients.
