Dear colleagues! The Russian Federation has committed an insidious and completely shameful military attack on our country! In 2022, cruise missiles with cluster munitions and vacuum bombs that are banned in the civilized world are destroying residential areas, kindergartens, and hospitals in the very center of Europe! As of 2nd of March, the number of dead civilians reached 2 thousand (of which at least 18 are children), and thousands are wounded. The President of the Russian Federation threatens the world with nuclear weapons, which can clearly lead to the start of the World War III. 

In the recent issue of the one of the most important journals in the field of diabetology, Journal of Diabetes and its Complications, published on February, 2022, "Editorial commentary to manuscript “Neural correlates of slower gait in middle-aged persons with childhood-onset type 1 diabetes mellitus: The impact of accelerated brain aging” by Royse et al" was prepared by the Head of Department of Diabetology of Institute of Family Medicine of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, Professor Boris Mankovsky. In this commentary Professor Mankovsky presented his view on the problem of accelerated brain ageing in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus and proposed the tools to examine those patients.

On February 11, 2022, the Department of Thoracic Surgery and Pulmonology of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine defended the dissertation of O. Bilokon, majoring in 222 "Medicine", specialty "Pediatric Surgery" on the topic: "Diagnosis and surgical treatment of lung tumors in children" (supervisor - Doctor of Medicine, Professor B. Kravchuk).

Cooperation between the Department of Ophthalmology of the National University of Health of Ukraine named after Shupyk (Head of the Department - Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor, Honored Doctor of Ukraine Rykov Serhiy Oleksandrovych) and the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Modern Dental Technologies of the Bogomolets Institute of Postgraduate Education (Head of the Department, Professor Kopchak Andriy Volodimirovych).

At the meeting of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology №1 which were held on-line, in conjunction with the attending physicians of the Sambir Central Hospital, the curator of the cycle, Associate Professor Protsyk Anatoliy reported that the number of those wishing to improve their skills on the subject of the training  corresponded to the staffing plan (24 students).

On February 1, 2022 the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology №2 began a full-time internship cycle with interns in the 2nd year. 22 intern’s orthopedists-traumatologists started training.
