Visual impairment in children is the most pressing problem of modern ophthalmology. According to the World Health Organization, about 300 million people worldwide suffer from visual impairment, of which 45 million are blind and 246 million have low vision. Children make up 43% of the total number of visually impaired people.

Whatever your goal – work, study, travel, or something else – the teachers of the department of foreign languages get you there. Since the main objective of the English teachers is to create positive learning environment in the classroom to motivate their learners towards their teaching and learning, we should not be satisfied with the knowledge what we have.

Significant restrictions on the ability to hold face-to-face conferences have been imposed in the scientific world to reduce the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak. Thus, research by our foreign colleagues showed that in 2020 44.4% of planned conferences were canceled, and many were postponed to another date. In 2021, various forms of online communication were proposed to continue sharing knowledge. At the same time, 40% of scientific forums were held virtually, 26.7% ‒ in a hybrid format, and only 16.7% ‒ in person.

 World Retina Week is traditionally held in the first week of November. The attention of the scientific community is focused on drawing attention to retinal diseases, which are considered the most dangerous of all visual impairments.

Nowadays there is growing number of people with overweight and obesity worldwide and in Ukraine. Obesity is one of the leading risk factor of type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, cancer and others severe diseases. Moreover, obesity is the very important risk factor of severe course and worse outcome of COVID-19.

Organizing a youth conference in the educational space of Ukraine is becoming not just an interesting initiative, but also a necessary step in the life of Ukrainian medical community. The youth conference promotes the professional development of interns and novice doctors, which is especially important in the current conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
