With the assistance and support of the Rector of the Academy Professor Voronenko YV, technical support of Professor O. Loskutov, staff of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care together with the British speaker, Mr. Johnn Maurice Alwood (West Middlesex Hospital University, Great Britain) organized and conducted a 4-hour master class on airway patency, video-assisted intubation, video laryngoscopy on mannequins in simulation situations when working with patients infected with COVID-19.

According to the curriculum at the Department of Oncology, it is planned to teach 38 students of three - and four-month cycles of specialization and internship "Clinical Oncology" at the beginning of the second half of the academic year. The actual number of students at the end of the enrollment was more than 70 people.

The Academy accepts students for training on a broad list of specialties of non-clinical (pathologic anatomy, microbiology, and virology, laboratory diagnostics, etc.) and clinical medicine (surgical, therapeutic, pediatric specialties, specialties of reproductive, forensic, sports medicine, etc.), as well as dental and pharmaceutical specialties – 56 specialties in total.

On July 8th, 2020 PhD student Rybchynsky G. defended his dissertation for the PhD-degree at the meeting of the specialized academic council at the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.

The pandemic declared by the World Health Organization through COVID-19 remains a pressing issue for both human health and life, including their work. Despite these objective difficulties, the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care was able to quickly and effectively change the regime and conditions of its work.

Due to the epidemiological situation related to the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Shupyk NMAPE conducts classes on topical issues of anesthesiology and intensive care in health care facilities. This approach to training allows us to rationally save human resources and not distract anesthesiologists from jobs.
