Today's challenges to the domestic health care system and postgraduate education in the context of the global COVID-19 pandemic require systemic changes in approaches to the choice of methods and formats of training for medical professionals in cycles of thematic improvement.

Every year on February 4, the World Cancer Day, which was proclaimed in 2005 by the International Union Against Cancer, is celebrated. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness about cancer as one of the most terrible diseases of modern civilization, focusing on prevention, early detection and treatment of this disease. In 2019-2021, World Cancer Day is held under the slogan "I am, and I will be."

Traditionally, at the beginning of the year, employees of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care PL Shupyk NMAPE analyze the activities of their team and report on the work done in the past, in 2020. Problems and challenges associated with COVID-19 have complicated the usual rhythm of professional activity of teachers. To solve them, distance learning forms were introduced.

On January 21, 2021, the staff of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care took part in the Eurasian Teleconference "COVID-19 – important issues".

At an extended meeting of the Department of Oncology, in compliance with the quarantine requirements, on January 29, 2021 the analysis of the training of interns in the "Clinical Oncology" specialty was summed. The interns were awarded by certificates of primary specialization.

On January 27, 2021, in the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education a meeting of the one-time specialized scientific council DF 26.613.007 was held. During this meeting a defense of the dissertation for obtaining a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of study 22 Health care in speciality 222 Medicine (specialization "Ophthalmology") took place.
