On October, 10-12 YIII Postgraduate Course of European Association for the Study of Diabetes took place in Lviv, Ukraine. The local organizer of the Course was the Head of Department of Diabetology of Institute of Family Medicine   of P.L.Shupyk National Medical Academy for Postgraduate Education Professor Boris Mankovsky.

On October 4-5, 2019, the first scientific and practical international forum “Metabolic syndrome in multidisciplinary aspect: competition or interaction” was held in Kyiv, with the participation of doctors of various specialties who involved in the treatment of metabolic syndrome (endocrinologists, surgeons, gynecologists, dietitians, pediatricians, psychologists) from all over Ukraine and the world (Belgium, Brazil, Italy, Turkey).

ESMO 2019 - the annual meeting of the European Society of Medical Oncology - European Society of Oncologists-Chemotherapists was held in Barcelona (​​Spain), September 27-October 01, 2019. Associate Professor Olga Ponomaryova  and Professor Bogdan Sorokin, the staff members of the Oncology Department in the Shupyk NMAPE, took part in this event.

On September 3 - 7, 2019 in Madrid, Spain, the Department of General and Emergency Surgery (head of the Department - Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor V.V.  Kryzhevskiy)   took part in the 24th World Congress of the International Federation of Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO). The IFSO is a surgical federation of 63 official national associations of bariatric surgeons and individual members.

From 11 to 15 of August 2019 the Department of General and Emergency Surgery participated in the 48th World Congress of Surgeons (WCS2019), which was in Krakow, Poland. The congress was held by the International Society of Surgeons (ISS) in conjunction with many other international associations: endocrine surgeons, traumatologists , intensive care and resuscitation specialists, bariatric and gastroenterological surgeons, oncologists and plastic surgeons operating on mammary glands and others, including an alliance of surgeons and anesthetists.
